Game Girl is Online @ 02:40 pm

Current Mood: game on

It's not that hard to build one though I had someone guiding me a bit and advising on certain stats and parts. I only "skimped" on RAM because I shelled out enough for one day and RAM is easy enough to find at good prices. I may add prices to this stuff later, but I may not because the one guy didn't itemize cost on the reciept where I bought most of it. Total approx cost, $1k. Getting a flat panel LCD monitor soon too.

This is the outside (may look more blue in this pic but it's definitely purple). It has 5 internal HD bays.

Stats
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHZ)
RAM: 3 GB [edit 11/11/05]

200 GB Serial ATA Western Digital
80 GB IDE WD
20 GB IDE WD
External Drives:

Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo2 (does anyone even care about this)

Extras:
Video capture card ATI TV wonder pro (going to convert all my VHS to DVD)

Software:
Win XP OS
Oh please like you want to read the 1000000 programs I will be putting on it haha... though I will list my main favorites here someday.

Gameware:
Wow. I can finally install all those really cool games Charles and I got but had nowhere to play them.
Everquest II of course (I'm Zehl on the Unrest server)
Restaurant Empire
D&D Temple of Elemental Evil
Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds
Gothic II
Neverwinter Nights
Neverwinter Nights Shadows of Undrentide expansion
Neverwinter Nights Hordes of the Underdark expansion
VTM Bloodlines
Probably more.

These aren't new, just what I use.
Color Printer: HP deskjet 940c

I also picked up a wireless router so my laptop is now truly wireless.

I'm happy that it seems like things are starting to come together for you. It's been painful watching you struggle.

What server do you play on in Everquest 2? I've got characters on Lucan de'Lere and Faydark. I'm not very good at it, but I try.

Just a suggestion; snap in that extra 512 RAM as soon as possible. I think you'll have trouble with only the 512.

Good luck, Champ.

Zehl, Unrest server. I think the 512 in this computer will be ok, I played for a while on my dad's computer which has 512 and only a 1 ghz processor and much older computer and it was fine, no issues at all.

Cool.

I have the whole Neverwinter series in that multi-panel little folder they put out. It's very good. Did you ever play the old pencil and paper version of Temple of Elemental Evil (T1-4)? I have it, and I think the PC version is maybe the best D&D adaptation ever. I hope that PC versions come out of the Slaver campaign (A1-4), and especially the Drow modules (G1-3, D1-3, Q-1) come out for the PC at some point. I remember really enjoying those twenty-plus years ago.

No, I never did tabletop gaming, well very little. Like one D&D game literally.
